Fort Lauderdale French chateau architecture design

This French style home located in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., is 6,500 square feet under air with six bedrooms, five-and-a-half baths, a media room and a loft. The English owners chose the formality of the French look, juxtaposed with modern detailing inside for their large lot on the Intracoastal Waterway. The ceremonial entrance with a double high grand room makes quite an impression as you step inside. While the overall feel is symmetrical, the custom design does follow the asymmetrical shape of the property to take advantage of the site’s water views. A roof deck is accessed through a hidden door in the hall. Formal yet comfortable is the best way to describe this residence.
